About GRAVITY

Deloitte’s GRAVITY Challenge began in Australia in 2019, with the goal of bringing market demand and technical experts together to solve some of the world’s most pressing issues using space enabled technology and capability.

From monitoring the condition of crops, tracking extreme weather events, measuring air pollution, keeping remote health workers safe, protecting whales and dolphins, assisting infrastructure planning and more, the ways in which space can unlock solutions down here on Earth is extensive.

Now, in 2023, the program has expanded globally and invites forward-thinking public and private organisations facing real world problems, and Innovators with the skills to solve them, to participate.

How It

Works

  • Step 1: Register

    We collaborate with progressive organisations with genuine business problems, where space technology and capability is part of the solution.

    Register your interest to be notified when the GRAVITY Challenge applications open.

  • Step 2: Apply

    It’s go time! GRAVITY launch videos are released and applications open. After watching videos from the Challenge Providers, Innovators form a team of technical experts and apply to work with the challenger organisation they believe their skills most align to and/or which business problem interests them the most.

  • Step 3: Innovate

    Eligible applicants gain access to our exclusive challenge portal. Here is where teams can view detailed challenge briefs, watch challenge specific webinars, interact with mentors and industry experts. At the end of this phase, Innovators submit a high level business case and video pitch.

    27 October - 28 November 2023

  • Step 4: Collaborate

    Let’s collaborate! Successful Innovator teams will now work 1:1 with their Challenge Provider (CP) to begin developing their solution. Innovator teams have the opportunity to work with GRAVITY’s Data & Technology Enablers and mentors throughout the process.

    CPs and Innovators are supported the whole way by their GRAVITY track lead.

  • Step 5: Live Pitch & Proposals

    It’s time to share your hard work!

    Innovator teams deliver a live pitch and business proposal outlining the solution that’s been designed and the roadmap to implementation.

    26 February - 4 March 2024

  • Step 6: Scale

    Challenge Champions (winning teams) begin planning with their Challenge Provider on how they can activate the pilot of their proposed solution.

    1 April onwards 2024
